Norma trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA) where she studied traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) acupuncture and western biosciences. She has undertaken further postgraduate training in the use of acupuncture to treat fertility and gynaecological conditions.

She has extensive experience in treating a wide range of conditions with acupuncture, and specialises in women's health, treating menstrual problems, infertility and menopause.

She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council which regulates the profession and ensures the highest standards in both practice and ethics.
